Choosing the right assistance
Medically assisted weight loss is more effective, healthier, and long lasting then diets or exercise alone. Trendy fad diets are quite appealing, but they can lead to the dreaded "diet roller coaster." Fad diets typically result in some noticeable success for a few weeks to months, followed by a sharp return to near or even higher than their original weight. These fad diets typically cause their initial weight loss results by the body burning more lean muscle tissue than fat, so even if you lose weight, your body fat percentage may remain high. As many as 70% of women and 40% of males ride this up-and-down weight battle.

The Board Certified Medical Professionals at Simply You Wellness will take into account your whole health to assist you in finding what will be most effective and beneficial to you, but you should also know what options are available to assist in choosing the right medical weight loss assistance.
Our Story:
How We Lost 290 Pounds Together
Real results. Real life. Lasting change.

Where We Started
2020 was the year everything came to a head. I was 110 pounds overweight, and my husband James was 180 pounds heavier than he wanted to be. We felt exhausted, discouraged, and honestly—defeated. Every diet had failed us. Every attempt ended the same way: short-term results, long-term frustration. We reached our breaking point and knew something had to change, but we didn’t know what yet. We were ready—just not sure how to start.

A New Approach: GLP-1
In 2021, we started using GLP-1 therapy under medical supervision—and everything shifted. For the first time, we had real tools to support real change. We focused on eating more intentionally, managing our portions, and moving our bodies every day in simple ways. It wasn’t about perfection; it was about consistency. We started seeing results—not just on the scale, but in our energy, our mindset, and our hope.
Finding Our Rhythm
This year, 2022, our new habits began to feel more natural. We were paying closer attention to hunger cues, staying consistent with smaller portions, and choosing foods that made us feel better. We still struggled at times—especially with emotional eating or stress triggers—but we kept showing up for ourselves. The weight continued to come off slowly and steadily.

In 2023, I hit my goal weight. After years of feeling like my body was working against me, I finally felt like I was in control again. By this point, the daily habits—portion control, mindful choices, simple movement—were part of our lifestyle. I still had to make hard decisions around food, but it was getting easier. It didn’t feel like punishment anymore. It felt like freedom.
2023 — My Goal Year
2024 — James’s Goal Year
James reached his goal in 2024. Four years of dedication, hard conversations, small adjustments, and a lot of patience paid off. He never gave up, even when the process felt slow or frustrating. We didn’t do anything extreme—just kept making small, better choices. And it worked.

2025 — Still Showing Up
Today, we’ve kept off a combined 290 pounds. We’ve proven to ourselves—and each other—that we can do hard things. But we don’t pretend it’s effortless. Every day still comes with choices. The difference now is that we have habits, tools, and support systems that make those choices easier. That’s why I started Simply You Wellness—to help others make sustainable, lasting changes in their own way. If our story sounds familiar, I’d love to help you write your own.
